I am no longer employed at Bunnings as I found a job closer to home. No more 1.5 hr minimum drives each way for me! Also, I don't believe it is good ettiquette to be discussing pay rates as everybody is different depending on age & qualifications. Sorry Declan. Maybe you can discuss this with someone at a local Bunnings store? Or better still look up the award wage in your state online :o)

Any job is mostly what you make it so use your positive attitude and it will be reflected back to you most of the time.

Hi guys, I've been reading most of what you all have been saying... I am 15 years old and a I have a job at Bunnings. I have not started yet, but will in a few days. Some have you have been saying 'they treat staff like 15 year olds' I personally think that is a good thing. Obviously because I AM 15. But after all these people saying how bad it is to work at Bunnings, it's made me nervous. When I went in for the group interview and the individual interview, the place seemed great. I can't wait to start work.

To all those who think they do not have to jump through the hoops to get a job think again!!!!!

In any organisation you need to play by the rules of the employer.

Bunnings are an organisation that do things differently with different people.

Yes they may have a particular corperate culture but that culture is still enforced by individuals and individuals will imterpret things differently.

Get over the fact that people will have idiosyncracies that are different to yours.

I am an operations manager for a traffic control company that is austaliA wide and I also have a part time job at my local bunnings. I have found that there are three distinct groups at bunnings where I work: those who are truly passionate about retail and actally live and breath the bunnings mantra, those who are there for 'a job' and play the game , and those who have no expeirience or are students.

It is the second group who I despise. They are the ones who in any organisation will be the cancerouse people who whinge and backstab.

As far as an organisation goes they are fine. They are there to make money and at the end of the day any management position will be stressful. There are people who can deal with a stressful job and there are people who can't .

Think about the comments you have read above and figure out who arE the cancers and who are the people who actually enjoy working.

Hiya yzen.

Have you now received a reply at all from Bunnings?
If not, I would assume that perhaps you have not been successful. However it is always a good idea to follow this up with the store. I'm not sure how your store in particular deals with these situations, but generally over here they inform you at the time of the interview that if you are successful they will contact you via a telephone call and then you will also receive a Job Acceptance in the mail for you to fill in & return to them.
Also, generally if you are unsuccessful they do not contact you to inform you of this, however keep your records for up to several months if they need to call upon you. It is then up to you wether you accept another job offer from them or not.
As I mentioned before, this is normally explained to you at the interview.

Good luck!
